Episode 139 - Jim Schwall

Best known for his long-time partnership with Corky Siegel and the internationally renowned blues-rock outfit, "The Siegel-Schwall Band", Jim has also been very active in the Madison music scene for many years. Other career paths such as being a lettered professor and social worker, as well as being a former Madison mayoral candidate make this one extraordinarily interesting person--and his music is every bit as interesting and often autobiographical.

Episode 138 - John Statz

Joined by a talented group of Madison, Wisconsin musicians (including Blueheels/Blake Thomas drummer Adam Cargin, and songwriters Jeremiah Nelson and Whitney Mann), Statz' new album, "Ghost Towns" is inspired by grimey, war-torn Balkan towns and dying, broken down American cities.
A well-known and well-loved Madison performer, this will be John's first appearance on Mad Toast Live!

Episode 137 - Patrick Terbrack

Noted for his hard swinging style and deeply soulful and expressive sound, jazz saxophonist Patrick Terbrack is beginning to make his mark on the Chicago jazz scene. Having already performed with seasoned veterans and jazz legends Willie Pickens, Rodney Whitaker, Benny Golson, and Jimmy Heath, Patrick is stepping away from his role as a sideman and embracing his role as a bandleader.

An equally gifted saxophonist and composer Patrick is the recipient of numerous awards. In 2009 he was voted Outstanding Musician of the Elmhurst jazz Festival and his original composition 6 Here 12 There won the 2008 Signature Songwriters Competition. Four of Patrick’s original compositions, including 6 Here 12 There, are featured on his debut album “Invitation”.

Having recently recorded his debut album, Invitation, Patrick Terbrack is hard at work touring and performing all over the United States with either his quintet featuring some of Chicago’s best musicians or with the NY based band the Delisfort Project.

Patrick has performed with Benny Golson, Curtis Fuller, Jimmy Heath, Jimmy Cobb, Rodney Whitaker, Lou Solof, John Faddis, Wycliffe Gordon, Jon Hendrix, Marcus Belgrave, Eric Reed, The Gerald Wilson Big Band, and The Milton Mustafah Big Band. He has performed at the JVC Jazz Festival, The Lima Peru Jazz Festival, The Detroit Jazz Festival, The Lansing Jazz Festival, and performed at Dizzy's Coca-Cola Room. Patrick has toured extensively in the U.S., Peru and Colombia, South America.
